Heavy rain and snowmelt have triggered several culvert washouts and slope failures along the Tunnel of Trees. Following initial damage in April 2026, torrential downpours in late June 2026 caused additional collapses, leading to extended closures between Harbor Springs, Good Hart, and Cross Village.
